Hailey Glassman’s ’surprise’ relationship with Jon Gosselin

jon-gosselinYounger woman and alleged party animal Hailey Glassman’s romance with Jon Gosselin came as a surprise, even to her, she told PEOPLE.

“If you had told me a few months ago, I wouldn’t have believed you,” Glassman said of her relationship with the 32-year-old newly single dad of eight kids. Hmm, is it a daily surprise that he’s still married, Hailey?

The 22-year-old daughter of Kate Gosselin’s plastic surgeon was at her parents’ New York City home where Jon headed in May after cheating allegations first popped up.

“He was so strong,” Glassman said. “I admired him.”

Did you admire the cheating, Hailey? Was that a totally awesome part of the appeal?

Glassman denied the two are engaged and claims they’re having fun together.

“We’re always laughing and joking. We watch movies, play pool and ping pong. We laugh a lot because I beat him at everything,” said Glassman.

She added, “He’s a great cook. He cooks roasted veggies with special seasoning and sauces, and he grills pineapple with a butter concoction.”

And apparently her parents also have flexible morals and no concern for the family being ripped apart.

“They love him. They think of him as part of the family. They think things happen for a reason,” said Glassman.

That acceptance is important to Glassman (I wonder if she’s going to feel the same about Kate and the kids’ opinion of her). “The most important thing is if someone fits in with my family … This is perfect. It just fits.”

Though she does recognize that the last thing Jon needs is another domineering shrew:

“I’m a huge believer in not controlling someone. I’ll give my opinion but tell him to do what he wants to do. He said, ‘I’m just not used to having an option.’ I told him life is about options.”
