Farrah’s final farewell

Funeral Farrah FawcettFamily and friends said their final farewell to Farrah Fawcett Tuesday.

Ryan O’Neal, her longtime partner, paid tribute and their son, Redmond O’Neal, gave a moving reading during the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

The two were pallbearers and held the star’s casket aloft as it was carried into the Roman Catholic church ahead of the service.

Redmond was given a three-hour release from jail, where he’s serving time on drug charges and gave the first speech of the ceremony in memory of his mother.

Though they were never married, Ryan had a gold band on his wedding finger and read a verse from the Bible after his son’s tribute.

Alana Stewart, Fawcett’s longtime friend and the producer of her NBC documentary “Farrah’s Story,” gave a eulogy about Fawcett, as did her doctor Lawrence Piro.

Also at the ceremony were her “Charlie’s Angel” costars Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. Around 500 people were at the service, which lasted about an hour.

The church and the coffin were decorated with orange and yellow flowers (the actress’s favorite colors) and the funeral program featured a photograph of a smiling Fawcett.

Fans surrounded the church, hoping to pay their last respects. As the star’s family and friends left the church after the funeral, Fawcett’s 90-year-old father James had to be helped to a waiting limousine as he struggled to contain his grief.
