Oh, Jessica. Rumor is Tony Romo isn’t quite the bad guy he seems for dumping Jessica Simpson the day before her 29th birthday. The breakup supposedly came after Romo discovered text messages from Simpson’s ex, John Mayer, on her phone.
Romo got angry and when Simpson refused to explain why she had kept the messages from the musician, Romo decided to end their 20-month relationship.
A source told RadarOnline: “They were hanging out and he picked up her phone and she got defensive about it. Tony found messages from John and went ballistic.
“Tony dumped her right then. He walked out and that was it.”
There are also reports that Simpson’s father, Joe, yet again had a hand in the end of her relationship. Her father/manager’s constant involvement in his daugher’s personal life reportedly became too much for Romo to handle.
