He really completed an incredible journey to be named as the eighth-ever winner of the most popular show on television.
The finale of the show, televised this week on Wednesday, was tightly-contested. Adam Lambert was the close contestant of Allen. On winning, Allen’s reaction was, “Adam deserves this. I’m sorry.”
At the outset, Simon Cowell suggested Allen that he should keep his marriage a secret. He did that. And he only advanced based on his looks. He shed his underdog label and became one of the most unexpected winners in show history. It may be a shocking news to all but surely America made the right choice!
Adam was an early favorite with huge vocals and in-your-face style. But Kris never gave up. Before the results, both of them highlighted their polar-opposite stylings in perfect fashion. Kris Allen paired with Keith Urban giving every one present a radio-worthy version of “Kiss A Girl.” This performance led him to the title. The song there sounded like the one in the album.
In past few months pictures have surfaced among all that Lambert kissing other men, but Allen usually talked about his wife and his church attendance.
Not only this, simple geography also may have been by the side of Kris Allen. Past 5 American Idols were from Southern states. Allen hails from Conway, Ark, about as deep in the South as one can get.
Wednesday night’s show was a lavish display of guest star performances too. Many deposed “Idol” contestants were allowed to retake the stage. Allen and Lambert got the opportunity to sing with some of their own idols such as Keith Urban and Kiss. The guest stars included Lionel Ritchie, Queen Latifah, Jason Mraz and Carlos Santana.
