Boy George on new raw food diet

boygeorgePrison food was no fun for Boy George. His four months in jail caused him to gain weight and now he only eats raw food.

The singer has embarked on a strict diet of uncooked food and a grueling exercise regime to shed the weight.

A friend of the 48-year-old star said: “He’s on a raw food regime and doing an hour’s walking a day. He’s also got some DJ shows lined up so hopefully things are back on track.”

George, real name George O’Dowd, was released from prison for good behavior in May, just four months into a 15-month sentence for assault and false imprisonment.

He was forced to wear an electronic ankle tag until last week, allowing police to monitor his whereabouts.

O’Dowd has never spoken publicly about the incident that led to his trip behind bars. According to court records, Scandinavian escort Audun Carlsen alleged George and an unnamed male attacked him after a drug-fueled photo shoot, handcuffed him and attached him to a hook next to George’s bed, then beat him with a chain as he tried to escape.

George, however, denied the charges and alleged in court that Carlsen had tried to steal private photos from his computer. He refused to give evidence at the trial supposedly because he didn’t want to upset his mother.
